Preparation

Clean, rinse and pat-dry the chicken. Sprinkle with Vegeta Twist and rub both the outside and the inside of the bird with the seasoning mix. Place the chicken into a roasting pan. Mix together oil and honey with a pinch of ground black pepper and brush all over the chicken skin.

Cut apples into wedges and remove the seeds. Pour lemon juice on the sliced apples, leave briefly to soak, then add to the roasting pan.

Roast in a moderate oven preheated to 350 degrees/180 °C/gas mark 4 for about 90 minutes. Keep an eye on the bird and baste occasionally with roasting juices or a little water.
Serving
Serve with baked apples and a vegetable of your choice.
Advice
Remove the skin from some of the roasted apple wedges, add some juices from the roasting pan and mix with a hand-held mixer until blended for a nicely aromatic sauce. Adding half a lemon in the cavity makes roast chicken tender and juicier.
